Valid for all bookings and guided tours with Lofoten Lux Tours.
1. Booking, Payment, and Cancellation
Upon completion of the booking, your spot is bindingly reserved. Since we operate with strictly limited capacities in small groups, the following conditions apply:
- Cancellation of Standard Tours: Unforeseen things happen. Therefore, a free cancellation with a 100% refund is possible up to 72 hours before the scheduled tour start (local Norwegian time). The cancellation must be made in writing via email. For later cancellations (less than 72 hours), a refund is excluded as we cannot fill the spots on short notice.
- Cancellation of Group and Private Tours (Custom Tours): Since we plan custom routes for group bookings, exclusively block entire days, and decline other inquiries, a non-refundable deposit of 20 % is required to secure the reservation. The remaining balance is due 14 days prior to the tour. If canceled less than 14 days before the start date, a refund of the total amount is excluded.
- Delay and No-Show: To start the experience on time for all guests, we ask you to be at the meeting point punctually. In case of a no-show or significant delay, the group unfortunately cannot wait, and a ticket refund is voided.
- Weather Conditions: The Arctic weather in Lofoten is part of the experience. Tours generally take place even in rain, wind, or lack of northern lights activity. In the event of dangerous extreme weather, the tour will be canceled by us for safety reasons.
- Cancellation by the guide: If we have to cancel the tour for safety reasons (e.g., severe weather warnings, avalanche danger) or due to unforeseeable internal reasons, you will receive a 100% refund or the option to rebook free of charge.
Tip: We recommend purchasing private travel and trip cancellation insurance. This way, you are financially protected in the event of illness, flight delays, or other unforeseeable events.
2. Your Safety and Insurance
Your safety is our highest priority. However, the nature in Northern Norway inherently involves risks, which is why participation in our tours is at your own risk.
- Liability: Lofoten Lux Tours is not liable for personal injury, property damage, accidents, or the loss of private equipment during the tour, unless these were caused by proven gross negligence (grov uaktsomhet) of the guide (according to the Skadeserstatningsloven).
- Insurance Coverage: We require that you have valid travel health and accident insurance that covers potential medical costs or rescue operations. Lofoten Lux Tours does not offer its own insurance for participants.
- Shared Responsibility: Please always follow the instructions of the guide. The guide reserves the right to make safety-relevant decisions for the well-being of the entire group.
3. Transport
If external means of transport (e.g., taxis) are used for parts of the tour, the travel time is subject to the liability and insurance conditions of the respective licensed transport company.
4. Right of Withdrawal
According to the Norwegian Right of Cancellation Act (Angrerettloven § 22, section m), leisure activities that are provided on a specific date or within a specific period are exempt from the right of withdrawal. Therefore, the standard 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to bookings of guided tours with Lofoten Lux Tours. The booking is binding upon receipt of payment.
